Shlofmitz, Chairman of Cardiology at St. Francis Hospital, is the world’s most experienced practitioner of Precision Angioplasty and a leading proponent of Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT), a ground-breaking diagnostic procedure that uses light waves to provide an unparalleled intravascular view that help physicians determine whether a patient needs a stent, and if so, its best size and placement.
  • Performs more minimally invasive heart valve replacements than any other hospital on Long Island.
  • A pioneer in the development of TAVR, which has changed the way aortic stenosis is treated.
  • Over 1,600 TAVR procedures performed to date, the highest volume on Long Island and one of the largest volumes in the U.S. (NYSDOH 2013-2015)
