CHS Earns Distinction as a Leading Employer
Once again, Catholic Health Services (CHS) has been named by Newsday as a Top Workplace on Long Island—the second year in a row. In addition, the health system has been recognized nationally for 2019 by Modern Healthcare as among the Best Places to Work and is the only New York State provider so honored in the recently announced rankings.
“We are very proud of these recognitions, both are an important validation of the workplace culture that we are committed to build and maintain,” said CHS Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer Tony Pellicano.
Newsday’s prestigious Top Workplaces recognition is based solely on employee feedback. The insights of randomly selected staff from every entity are gathered confidentially through a third-party survey administered by Newsday’s research partner, Energage. Modern Healthcare partners with the Best Companies Group on the assessment process, which includes an extensive employee survey and evaluation of workplace polices, practices and demographics.
Together, staff in all disciplines have built a culture of excellence, providing quality patient care to Long Islanders and putting CHS’s mission and core values into action every day, helping to realize the organization’s mission: To be the preferred health care system on Long Island for patients, doctors and staff.
“We strongly believe that highly engaged people provide the best care and experience for our patients and residents,” Mr. Pellicano added.
Energage anonymously polled more than 16,000 employees at 117 LI employers, on everything from pay and benefits to leadership and company alignment. CHS was ranked 11.
