Louis Acompora Days
On March 25, 2000, Louis Acompora, a 14-year-old lacrosse goalie and honor student, died when a lacrosse ball struck his chest. Over the past 10 years, the Acompora family has worked relentlessly to initiate Public Access Defibrillation Programs in various community settings. To date, there are almost 50 direct documented cases of lives saved due to their efforts. Many were children under 18. This night is for volunteer coaches, youth leaders, senior leaders, athletes, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts (age minimum 11) and any community member wanting to learn about this lifesaving skill. This is not for employment requirements.
